What is Ferrum?
Ferrum is input manipulation hardware similar to a Kmbox that supports up to 8k polling and your mouse’s software. It uses all standard commands that a Kmbox B+ Pro, so it is a drop-in replacement and works with all current software. Ferrum is plug and play but also offers a companion app for more control. We will provide our custom API for developers who want more control.What makes Ferrum special?
Ferrum offers perfect full passthrough of your current device to your main computer. This makes your main pc see the mouse as directly plugged in. This removes any chance of software on your computer finding the device. With our full passthrough, you can use any feature of your actual device, including manufacturer software (ex. synapse, ghub, xpanel, etc). Our high-end hardware and software combo also supports high-speed devices, meaning you can use your mouse at its full potential and reach 8k polling.How much will it cost?
Ferrum will be released at a cost of $125. We realize this is very expensive, but this is to offset the development costs and ensure we are providing the best hardware. This device is meant to be endgame, meaning you will never have to replace it. Because of this, the price is justified.
How is this better than other devices, such as an Arduino or MAKCU?
MAKCU, KMBox, all Arduino-based solutions, and almost all other products on the market don't support USB 2.0 emulation due to hardware limitations. This means they cannot show up as high speed devices when you view the descriptors. This means devices supporting polling rates above 1KHz, even on a 1KHz mode, cannot be safely used with passthrough. However, Ferrum has the hardware to support safe passthrough of all devices. The most significant advantage Ferrum has is well-designed firmware. Very few (if any) developers on the market take time to learn how USB actually works. They opt to use pre-existing libraries with code they didn't write (and usually don't understand), leaving room for unexpected behavior and detections. Ferrum was designed from the ground up with its custom-embedded USB drivers, meaning all code and the underlying behavior are personally written and understood. This puts it ahead of all other solutions in terms of undetectability. There are also no latency based detection vectors other projects may have.Included in the Box
